叶文才，理学博士，教授、博士生导师，教育部重大项目特聘教授。1983年7月毕业于南京药学院(现中国药科大学)中药学专业，获学士学位；1983年8月-1988年10月在安徽中医药高等专科学校任教；1988年11月-1997年7月在中国药科大学天然药物化学教研室任教，先后任讲师、副教授；1997年8月-2001年10月在香港科技大学化学系学习，获博士学位；2001年12月起任中国药科大学教授、博士生导师；2002年8月-2016年7月先后担任暨南大学中药及天然药物研究所常务副所长，中药系主任，药学院副院长、院长。2014年10月起任暨南大学副校长。

长期从事中药和天然药物活性成分、天然产物化学生物学、中药和天然药物来源的创新药物等研究工作。先后主持了国家重点研发计划、国家自然科学基金重点项目、国家自然科学基金-广东联合基金重点项目、国家重大科技专项和科技支撑计划、教育部重大项目创新团队、广东省珠江人才计划团队项目、广东省自然科学基金团队项目、广东省和广州市重大科技专项等科研项目40余项。已发表研究论文700余篇(其中SCI收录论文400余篇)，2014-2017年连续被Elsevier列为中国高被引学者榜单。获授权国内外发明专利36项，获一类和五类中药新药临床研究批件各1项。以第一完成人获国家科技进步奖二等奖1项、广东省科学技术奖一等奖2项，获中国专利优秀奖、中国产学研合作创新成果奖一等奖各1项。主要成果之一“中药和天然药物的三萜及其皂苷成分研究与应用”入选2017年中国十大医学进展。讲授了多门本科生和研究生课程，培养硕士和博士研究生100余名。

现兼任国家药典委员会委员、中国植物学会植物化学与资源学专业委员会副主任委员、广东省药学会副理事长、广东省学位委员会委员、广东省高校设置评议委员会委员、多个国家及省部级重点实验室学术委员会委员。获中国药学发展奖(人物奖)、国务院政府特殊津贴、广东省丁颖科技奖、教育部重大项目特聘教授、新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选，并获全国模范教师、全国优秀科技工作者称号。
